University of North Carolina
March 30th, 2006The University of North Carolina campus is a safe and happy environment. Students meet peacefully and Alumni remember it with affection. Two weeks ago, a person tried to destroy a small area that is the heart of the entire campus. This student was consciously aware of what he did and why or there is more to this story.
In the United States one is innocent until proven guilty. On that fateful day, people watched with horror as this man tried to run them over in his suv. The students who were attacked and hurt may never forget this terrifying scene.
I am told by a friend of MUSLIMS FOR AMERICA, that this student was known to have used some substances to give him un- natural highs. First and foremost, he can not have been a practicing Muslim as Muslims do not drink or abuse substances. The student, supposedly, had said he was giving it all up in order to become a born again Muslim. Well, there is no such thing, either you are a Muslim or you are not. No, Muslim is born again, the concept does not exist.
Also, this area of campus was publicly known to be the spot where some Muslim women distributed flyers about Darfur and the violence occurring there. This man was aware of this, and yet, still choose to ram his suv into this crowd. Obviously, his Islam allows him to hurt fellow Muslims too. Taheriazar, I will let the law take its course and that will be your punishment. Whether you will be confined behind bars or committed to an institution for mental un- stability, let them lock you up and throw away the key.
This is a man who has hurt his fellow human beings. Human beings whom he saw night and day and yet showed absolutely no compassion for them. This man wants to blame Islam for his misdeeds. This man has disgraced his religion. This man is no Muslim.
MUSLIMS FOR AMERCA would like to apologize to the victims of this horrific act. We extend the hand of friendship to all. We are all fellow citizens of this great country, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Lets work together to create interfaith dialogue and understanding between all religions and all people.
PEACE. - Seeme Gull Hasan
